Police are searching for a 43-year-old Hamakua man who is wanted on a bench warrant.

Police are searching for a 43-year-old Hamakua man who is wanted on a bench warrant.

Dan Vanells, who also goes by the names Dan Van Ells and “Danno,” is wanted for contempt of court, according to the Hawaii Police Department. He is also wanted for questioning in connection with another incident.

He is described as 5-foot-10, 175 pounds with hazel eyes, blond hair and possibly a goatee. He was last known to live in Waipio Valley.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
